A pretty inventive steampunk story but the ideas are somewhat convoluted and sometimes words that don't make any sense at all.
Top Notch Work !
Little hard to understand who people are. Or what's going on at the beginning. But once it gets going it's a good story.
Mythical lands. Magical creatures. Awesome steampunk inventions. And DRAGONS !!! Not to mention conflicts and fights for survival. This series pilot has all the elements that make me eager to read this series.
Read with my kids and they LOVED it!!!!!
I really can't say it any better than D. Wilski. This is a great fantasy tale with some interesting twists. The writing makes it easy to envision the characters, their situations and the inventions.
I just learned that the next episode is available and am purchasing it today (as soon as I get done with this review). I can't wait for more, I read it in one sitting.
The Dirge is a fantasy that pulls the reader into lands filled with action, anticipation and magical creatures. The descriptions make it easy to imagine the Dwarven Kingdom, the dragons and the Magical Seven. Depicting the Dwarfs as steampunk was a stroke of brilliance and seems so logical. Of course the Dwarfs would be miners. And of course they would use the mined ore for many amazing steampunk inventions !!!! The inventions are detailed in such a way that they are believable and easy for the reader to envision. The unique personalities of the characters make them entertaining and endearing. Bring on the next adventure in this very promising series.
